In Poughkeepsie, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across New York do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

Kelly’s Bakery is truly a hidden gem in Poughkeepsie. They have some of the best pastries, coffee, and chai latte I’ve ever had in the area. Everything is consistently fresh, delicious, and made with so much care. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, but what really makes this place special is the people. Everyone here is incredibly kind and friendly. Every time I come in with my dog Stella, they always take a moment to say hi to her and to me, which makes the experience feel even more personal and warm. The food is absolutely amazing, the morning cinnabun and the avocado toast are must‑tries. Honestly, this place deserves more than 5 stars. It’s one of those spots you fall in love with and keep coming back to.

We were in the area and decided to try it. Everything was amazing, the croissants were so fresh, crispy and tasty and as a real French woman I'm picky about my croissants ! The price wasn't bad at all compared to other places area that serves you stale croissants for 5 bucks!!! We also got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it was delicious!! With gruyere cheese and fresh brioche bun, you can't go wrong. Plus we had a latte and it was very good! Highly recommend!

I don’t even want to leave a good review for this place because it’ll make more people show up and the line will get longer - but it’s a line worth standing in, every time. It never fails to impress me how consistently Kelly’s delivers on everything they offer, from pastries, to cooked breakfast items, to the quality of their drinks, down to the crafting of their offered flavors. I used to be a barista so I can be a bit judgmental of coffee shops, especially ones that use low quality ingredients or don’t properly train their staff. You can really tell at Kelly’s that everyone on staff is held to a high standard. They have great customer service and move long lines super efficiently without sacrificing experience, and even in the biggest rush my drinks and food are never made sloppily and I’m rarely waiting for long. Having worked in a similar environment, I know how hard that can be, to navigate the circus of a Saturday morning rush. Everything always tastes great and it’s a nice place to be - the only thing is they are so good and so popular that there’s rarely seating. It would be nice if they could expand or have more outdoor seating for the nicer weather months, but it’s someth

We love love love Kelly's Bakery so much. We've been coming for years now, and it's been incredible since the beginning. The pastries are delicious, the food is just as good, and the people are so kind. I also appreciate that they keep track of who is on line and letting people know to order before grabbing a seat. I've been to other places where there is a sign that will say something similar but then the rule is not enforced. It seems like a small thing, but I truly appreciate the orderliness of it and the fact that it's fair for all customers. We are lifelong customers for sure, and if you are reading this trying to decide if you should visit, you should definitely give them a try 💛 (Not to mention the music!! We love the music and so does our 2 year old!)

The mushroom toast is definitely my absolute favorite! I have to say, it's probably one of my favorite toasts ever, where the savory, meaty and woody mushroom paired perfectly with the creamy cheese! My wife also loved their avocado toast where the avocado spread was also very decadently creamy! The staff were also friendly and kind, conversing with us casually and it was a pleasure speaking with them. The cafe is very cute with spacious seating and welcoming designs all throughout, providing a comfortable ambiance for diners to relax and enjoy themselves, with both indoor and outdoor seatings. Overall, it's a very cute cafe and I highly, HIGHLY, recommend their toasts for a quick and light bite, especially the mushroom toast if you like mushrooms! Thank you for reading and best of luck!! (:
